Pink Friday
Pink Friday encourages shoppers to prioritize local, independent retailers and happens annually on the Friday before Black Friday. Launched in 2020 by The Boutique Hub, Pink Friday is a celebration of small businesses.
This year, Pink Friday is November 22, 2024. While it’s a relatively new movement, it’s gaining momentum annually. To celebrate, keep an eye on social media, especially platforms like Instagram and TikTok, for the latest updates and participating businesses. Be sure to follow the hashtag #SupportSmallFirst to discover local shops in Tulare County.
Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is another opportunity to make a difference and discover or revisit hidden gems in Tulare County. Founded by American Express in 2010 and officially co-sponsored by the SBA since 2011, this annual event has grown into a nationwide movement to support local businesses. With over $200B in sales generated, it’s clear that small businesses are the backbone of our communities.
This year, Small Business Saturday is November 30, 2024. Many businesses have made this a two-day event offering extended deals and discounts on Small Business Sunday. Check with your favorite local retailer to see what they have planned. To maximize your Small Business Saturday/Sunday experience:
- Create a Shopping List: Plan your route and prioritize the stores you want to visit.
- Check for Cyber Monday Deals: Many local businesses have online stores, so be sure to check for any Cyber Monday sales. You might find some amazing deals from local businesses.
