Reflections from the World Ag Expo 2024
March 21, 2024
What started in Tulare stays in Tulare! The World Ag Expo has been a staple in the City of Tulare since 1968 when it was called The California Filed and Row Crop Equipment Show. Since then, organizers have continued the original purpose of annually connecting buyers and sellers in agriculture for the growth and sustainment of the industry.
Javier’s First Expo
With ten-plus years of experience in different sub-sectors of the ag industry, Javier Cisneros joined Tulare County EDO in January 2024, as an economic development analyst. Given the World Ag Expo as a work assignment, Cisneros jumped at the opportunity. His background made him a great asset to work the Expo booth and share information about what Tulare County has to offer.
Being a Tulare County native, Cisneros knew about the World Ag Expo and saw the annual influx of people in his community. Yet, he had not attended. Because his assignment was to “work the booth,” he knew his interaction across the campus grounds was limited. That did not shift his excitement in attending.
Basking in the success of the 56th annual World Ag Expo, Cisneros shared his experience as a first-time attendee. Unfortunately, he missed out on the demonstrations, attending seminars, and taking Ag Tours. However, he still had positive things to say!
When asked about the Top-10 New Products, having an Ag background, Cisneros feels most positive about some of the plant sprayers. The word he used was “promising.”
When asked about his overall experience, he said, “The World Ag Expo is an experience anyone can enjoy because you enter the world of AG and you see all the different components and cultures that go into it. The Expo exceeded all my expectations and made me proud to be part of Tulare County. It was a huge event that I regret not participating in sooner. I learned this event impacts not only World AG, but also Tulare County businesses. I made a great international connection, the food was great, and I am looking forward to next year.”
